Treasurer & Collector of Revenue
Personal and real estate taxes are due by the last day of each year. Area residents may file documentation in-person at the Collector-Treasurers office inside the Livingston County Courthouse, use the drop box on the north side of the court house after hours or mail the documentation to Diana Havens, Collector-Treasurer, 700 Webster Street, Chillicothe, MO 64601. Mailed documentation must be postmarked by December 31 of the next year to avoid late penalties. Payment for personal and real estate taxes may be made by check, debit card, credit card or cash. (Note: The charge for credit cards is 2.5%; VISA debit cards are charged a $3.95 fee.)
Notice: Livingston County taxpayers are reminded of changes in security at the courthouse. Livingston County Treasurer-Collector Diana Havens reminds residents of changes at the courthouse before they head in to pay their tax bills. With a full-time security officer, those entering the courthouse will be asked to take any purses or backpacks, along with any weapons, back to their vehicle. Only bring in car keys, tax bill, and method of payment. Also, only the doors on the north side of the building, facing Webster street, can be used for entry into the building. There is also a drop-box for tax payments on the north side of the courthouse which is checked multiple times a day.
